London Calling – Day 1

I’ve decided one of my top favourite things is watching the sunrise from an airplane window. It’s always beautiful and it means I’m on my way to an adventure.

This time we are headed to London. A trip planned over a year ago when my daughter and I scored HAMILTON tickets! Woooo! So we saved whatever we could over the past year and voila, here we are.

I do not have a ton of pictures or food and travel stories today, mainly because I’ve slept maybe 3 of the last 36 hours and am heading off to bed very, very soon.

Things I have learned so far:

1. Despite being a stickler for details I goofed and bought my daughters plane ticket using a version of her name that did not match her passport. WestJet fixed it at the airport, for free, no fuss. They are my new favourite airline.

2. I goofed a second time when I said our hotel was #11 on the street. It was #113. #11 doesn’t exist. We had a lot of fun looking for it with suitcases in tow.

3. My sense of direction is not what it once was. As an aside, we got to discover a few interesting neighbourhoods today.

We did already cross “visit a pub” and “try bangers and mash” off the to do list. No beer today though, I was so tired a beer would have pushed me over the edge and I would have just lain down in the street to nap. No Joke.

That’s it for today friends, let’s see what tomorrow brings.
